Hi,

Here is some information that you might find useful.

Our airport is Glacier International Airport, located in Kalispell. We are serviced by Delta, Alaska Air, Northwest Air, Horizon, and Continental. We will have arrangements to pick you up at the Airport and take you downtown to either West Coast Inn (Center Mall) or the Kalispell Grand.

They are located close together and are quite nice and have reasonable rates, especially in the off season. They are conveniently located to several restaurants.

We'll pick up from those hotels and bring you to our home where the training will take place.

There are car rentals here, too, and that would be up to you. The national companies (with Kalispell phone numbers) are:

Adobe classes are from Monday through Friday. Classes start at 9:00 and last until about 4 and Q&A until 4:30 or so. Lunches are provided but don't shoot the cook.

Arrival should be on Monday at the latest, and departure depends on your schedule. Kalispell isn't a major hub, and most flights out curtail in mid afternoon. A recommendation would be to arrange a Friday or Saturday departure. For example, you might rent a car on Friday and take in a few sights before leaving.

I'm a former college teacher, and have taught over 25 years in colleges and universities in various areas across the country while I was in the Army. I am an Adobe Certified Expert and we are rated as an approved Adobe Certified Training Provider. We are active videographers, too.

The Adobe class itself is pretty much a soup-to-nuts view of Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, and Encore with some Photoshop.

The morning of the first day is spent on digital video concepts, concentrating on digital video to include hardware and hardware configuration, Premiere's interface and video capturing. This includes a review of file types and formats that Premiere can use and why you'd use one or another. Project settings for various purposes, including web video. A very brief overview of hardware and software issues is included.

That afternoon we'll start using the video in the Monitor window and Timeline. Most of the afternoon will revolve around project management, creating bins to include external bins and such to make the flow of work smoother, transparency, motion, and making titles with Premiere's titler.

The second day will continute with Premiere Pro and Photoshop and introduce some post production techniques with Audition.

On day 3, we will begin a two-day block with After Effects.

The last day will be spent with Encore and prepping content for delivery to DVD.

There will be some theory - necessary to basic understanding of the medium and project coherence, but mostly it will be practical application. There will be some Photoshop integration with Premiere, too, and some scanning for video, theory and application of streaming media, and more.

Class size is limited. We will take no more than four, and prefer 2 or 3. This intimacy can't be beat for learning from either an instructor or student's point of view.

Price for the course is $1400.

Right now, airfare to Kalispell, Montana, round-trip from just about anywhere in the USA is less than $500. The Kalispell Grand Hotel's daily rate is under $55 (with tax). You can travel here, get individualized instruction for less than you'd think.
